Black vertex color support?

 

The above setup for the Vertex Color node will provide an output for the black vertex color. The output node of the Constant Clamp can be seen as the output node for "Black", while the rest of the R, G, and B nodes remain the same.

 

How many can I use?

 

You can use up to 4 vertex colors in one material, black, red, green, and blue.

 

What about Normal, Spec, etc?

 

The setup in this example demonstrates how we can use the Lerp expression to blend different textures together. So if you are to include normal maps, and other maps, you can use the same technique, except your Texture Sample expression will be sampling a normal map instead.
